Happy New Year!
2019 will be the best year yet. I feel like now more than ever, people everywhere are just so incredibly inspired. We have goals, dreams, and a whole lot of determination. Maybe its just the people that I choose to surround myself with now a days, but lately, I’ve been feeling so motivated and ready to do everything I want to do.
So instead of sitting here and listing all my resolutions to you guys, I thought I would take a different approach. What if my only goal this new year, was to accomplish all my goals? I’m not just talking about the ones I make now, but all the ones to come throughout the new year. What if I promise myself to work hard towards everything I want? What if I just commit to making this year the best?
Sounds like a pretty intimidating goal to me…
You’re supposed to have specific goals, but mine are all vague. In the end, I just want to learn, grow, and better myself in every possible way. Isn’t that what resolutions are all about?
Usually every December, I’ll look back at the year and think “Yeah its been good”, but if we’re being honest here, 2018 has not been my year. I pride myself on being positive, but I would be crazy if I pretended that this year was perfect. At times, it just felt like nothing could go right and that everything was changing for the worse. I think a new year is a chance for me to change that and start taking control. If I want something, I’m going to go for it, and thats the only goal I need to make.
So I’ll be getting out my new shiny planner, planning the weeks away according to how I want them to go. And I encourage you to do this as well, because a new year is a chance to start from scratch and say goodbye to all the things that you don’t care for. One thing I can’t stand is when people criticize others for wanting to make changes in the new year. They either think its too cliche or who knows what else, but the truth is that that’s not true. The new year is a personal thing. You should never be ashamed of wanting to acknowledge all the things you want from an empty book that you are about to write.
So, to everyone reading this, I truly hope from the bottom of my heart, that you all have the best year. Make memories, make progress, and do the things that will make you better. Commit this year to yourself because it’s what you deserve.
That being said, If I were to say one vague goal that I have for the new year, it would be that I want to continue to find my personal style. I use the word “style” vaguely because there are many things I want to find my own style for. Whether it be my blog, beauty/fashion, lifestyle, etc, I want to find and pick out the things that I really like and the things that will allow me to learn, grow, and just make me happy.
So, I hope you all have the most wonderful New Years. I am so happy that I am taking blogging into 2019 with me. I’ve said it so many times before, but blogging is my happy place. It’s my creative outlet and where I get to leave my voice. Let me know your thoughts and opinions on New Years Resolutions.
P.s. I tried super hard to wait to post this until NYE, but I couldn’t seeing as I’m posting this at 3pm on a Saturday.
