A Month In Review / June 2019

We’re officially another month down in 2019 and it feels like this year is just flying by. Now its summer, and I wouldn’t be mad if time wanted to slow down just a little. This month was really great for my blog and so I’m going to talk mostly about that in todays post.

But first, I wanted to say that I hope everyone reading this had a great month. I’m officially in summer mode since work ended last week. Since then, I’ve been treating blogging like my new full time job. It has definitely paid off.

Blogging

For the past three months (I would say), I feel like I’ve been neglecting my blog. At the end of March, my childhood dog passed away which was a lot harder to cope with then I think people would assume it to be. After that I kind of jumped right into finals at school and then I started working more hours at my job. As much as I hate making excuses, I had zero time for blogging. So this week, being the first week that I’ve had any kind of free time, I wanted to use it by doing something for myself and that was going to help me work towards my goals. Hence, my hours of note taking.

I have been non-stop studying blogging since last week. I’ve finally gotten use out of all my unused notebooks that I spontaneously bought just because I thought they were “cute”. Anyone else do that? Anyways, this weeks task was Pinterest. Since I started blogging in September all I kept seeing was “Pinterest, you have to use Pinterest”. Thinking that I knew what I was doing, I thought it wasn’t necessary and that I wouldn’t get any use out of it. Boy was I wrong.

I have completely become obsessed with pinning and creating pins and just learning how to use it to my benefit. Huge thanks to Ell and all of her blog posts (her blog here!) because I literally learned everything about Pinterest from her posts. I’m telling you, if you aren’t using Pinterest yet, you need to start. While I still have a lot to learn, my progress has definitely been paying off. (Check out my Pinterest here!)

I also have been a lot more active on Twitter this month. It was really hard for me during school, because I wasn’t able to be on my phone every hour. Now, I can see everyones tweets and make my own. It has allowed me to connect with more bloggers and be able to show more support when I can!

I’ve officially quadrupled my views compared to last month. In fairness, it wasn’t a huge number to begin with and so its still not a huge number, but I’m still really happy and proud of myself. It only encourages me to double my views next month. All of this has really put me in a #Girlboss mindset and I couldn’t be feeling anymore inspired than I do in this moment.

July Plans

Now for some July plans. First, I’m going on vacation! This week, actually. I’m so excited and I’m already planning out my “travel diaries”. When I get home, I don’t really have anything else planned except working more on my blog. I’ve made a list of everything I want to learn and figure out in July. I can’t wait to see where my blog is this time next month.

Happy July!

Hi Colleen, I haven’t met you before now but I’m glad to read your post. I’m sorry to hear about your dog. We all go through things that make us fall off the wagon now and again but I’m so glad you’re making a comeback. It’s inspiring! Also, thanks for encouraging us to try out Pinterest. I’ve been very hesitant but you convinced me to put it on my to-do list. I look forward to reading more of your posts!

I am sorry to hear about your dog :(. The worst thing about having a pet is when they pass away. It is good that you’ve been picking up your blog again. Hope July will be a better month overall :).

I’m going on holiday this month too which I’m excited about and yes! I used to think Pinterest wouldn’t make a difference but it definitely does!
