HAPPY NEW YEAR!
We are officially in a new year, and more importantly, a new decade! As I’m sitting here typing this out, I feel so inspired. All my “resolutions” are so clear to me for 2020 and I’m so excited to start working on all of them. It always bothers me when people think its cliche to have new years goals. Personally, I love when people tell me their resolutions because I love to cheer them on. I know people argue that if theres a change you want to make, you don’t need to wait for a new year. But the idea of a new year and a “fresh start” is truly inspiring. And anytime someone wants to better themselves, they should have support. Its a big deal!
Last year, I had one resolution. It was vague, but it was important to me. I wanted to find my “style”. In every aspect of my life. You can read about it here, because I’m carrying that goal into this year as well. But my goal (yup goal, theres only one again) this year is different. My new years resolution is to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Once again, in every aspect of my life.
Go on walks
I don’t think I’m ready to talk about it yet, but over the past few months and I think really the whole year, I’ve been struggling a bit with anxiety. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been incorporating more and more healthy habits and they have helped my anxiety incredibly. I started by going on walks a few times a week. It’s been so therapeutic and a great chance to get outside and stop thinking about school, work, or anything else. My goal is to find the time to walk every single day even if its only for fifteen or twenty minutes.
Learn to cook
My next goal for 2020 is to start eating healthier. When I’m busy, I make excuses to eat quick but bad food, and I think it adds to my “bleh” mood. I’ve made the time to actually cook and eat breakfast everyday the past few weeks, and its very relaxing because I blast my music while I cook. In 2020, I want to eliminate eating out at all, and learn how to cook all my food at home.

I also want to read more! This definitely is part of a healthy lifestyle because it stimulates your brain. Reading also inspires me since I love reading girl boss type books. My goal is one book a month. I’m starting small since reading isn’t a regular thing for me and I know it will be a habit I need to create. I want to stop sitting on my phone before bed and instead read because its also proven to help you sleep better.
Learn a new skill
This is random, but I really want to learn a new skill. I dont know what its going to be yet but I will figure it out! I just want something that I can practice on a daily basis. Whether it be an instrument, art, or whatever, I just want to learn! I told you I was feeling super inspired…
Go to church
I’ve always been religious but not super religious. I know religion is a touchy subject but it is one of my resolutions, so I want to talk about it. I want to start going to church every single week. I went on Christmas Eve and remembered how good I feel after. My family feels the same way and so I’m excited to go with them every Sunday.
Working on my blog and turning it into something is one of my top resolutions. This little space of mine means so much to me and I want to make the most of it. I love writing, creating, and every aspect that goes into it. Blogging has been one of my biggest blessings and I’m so excited to see where it will go.
