One of the people who I’ve found to inspire me the most when it comes to blogging has been Cara Alwill Leyba. When I first started my blog, I found her book, “GirlCode” and loved it so much that I wrote a whole post about it. So it’s not surprising that I’m doing the same thing now, with her latest book “Girl On Fire”. I loved this so much and finished it in one sitting. Then I read it again, because I wanted to soak up as much knowledge and inspiration as I could.
There is so much to learn from Cara’s new book, especially if you are an inspiring business woman. Each time I read one of her books, I feel like I’m having an actual conversation with a friend who knows how to give the best advice. This book came at the exact time I needed it. I feel like I’ve been struggling the past couple days with my blog. Feeling “stuck” has been a reacurring theme this week and I haven’t been able to stop doubting myself.
Thats why when I read this book, I felt a confidence boost and a rush on inspiration. “Girl On Fire” is all about creating and being the person that you want to be, without the fear of what others think or the fear of failing. It’s about not compairing yourself because you are the only one of you. You are unique and you have something special to offer. Like I said, I feel like I picked up this book when I needed it most.
What I Loved
What I love about this book, is that Cara added in little spaces with questions to answer about yourself, your dreams, and more. It really made me think about what I wanted and set my goals more clearly. Another part that I really enjoyed reading was when Cara talks about fear and how to stop looking at it in such a negative way. She says that people should stop thinking about everything that can go wrong, and start thinking about everything that can go right. Then she talks about her personal experience with not knowing when to quit her corporate job. She then says that if she would have waited for a publisher instead of self publishing her own books, she may have never been able to inspire other women.
I personally feel that everything happens for a reason. Things happen when they are meant to happen, but they also are not going to happen if you just stay in the same place. I’ve been feeling a bit negative about my blog lately (like I mentioned before), but thinking like that won’t get me anywhere. I need to keep going and working hard on my blog and stop being so scared.
Cara Alwill Leyba has officially become my biggest inspiration when it comes to blogging. I love how authentic she is and I feel like I can relate to so much that she talks about. So now I will just be waiting for her next book to come out so I can read that too!
Hope you enjoyed this book review!
