Last month, I wrote a post about my realistic morning routine. So of course, I need to share with you guys my night routine. This one is more self-care based and less about saving time. Self-care is important, and you should take the time even if its just once a week, to include these things into your night routine.
I’m home by five every night except once a week, so I’m going to talk about that schedule. This is for the night’s where I know I’m not going anywhere for the rest of the day.
I get home from going on a walk. I walk for usually about an hour to an hour and a half. After I get home, I go in the shower. I find my routine so much more relaxing when I shower first.
I put in a few hair products, do some skincare, all that fun stuff. On nights that I’m doing a full self-care routine, I like to do a face mask. There’s something about them that makes you feel like a whole new person after…or is that just me?
I like to sit down for a few minutes, go on my phone, drink some water, and just relax. I don’t like to be on my phone too much at night, so I’m not on for too long.
I put on some music and I will either paint my nails, paint, write, read, clean my room, etc. Something that doesn’t involve my phone, and thats kind of effortless. I’ve gotten so into this routine, that I’ve gotten the people in my life into it as well. I have paint nights with my sister and friends and it’s super relaxing.
I like to do some mindless journaling where I write about whatever. Sometimes I will write blog post ideas, what I did that day, etc.
I’m a huge movie person and so is my whole family basically. By this time, we’re looking for a new movie or watching our favorite shows. Some current favorites? This Is Us (what a TEAR JERKER), After (this movie is my guilty pleasure), and reruns of the Kardashians (forever a favorite).
Between this time, I’m in bed, going to sleep. I’ve always had bad sleeping habits, but I’ve been trying to get better and trying to get seven-eight hours every night (even weekends!).
