Right now, a lot of us have a bunch of free time. With everything going on, we should be staying at home, inside. Watching the news all day and reading things on social media wont help with stress, so finding new things to do is a must. Here’s a few things that I’ve been doing to keep busy during this crazy time. These ideas are kind of mindless because they are meant to take your mind off of things. Here’s five things to do at home.
Organize your technology
Do a spring cleaning of your phone, computer, Ipad, etc. I mostly need to declutter my photos, notes, and random apps that I never use. It’s the best feeling when your phone feels organized and you can actually find what you’re looking for. I recently did this with my computer by going through everything and creating new folders. I made a folder for blogging, school work, and then made subfolders in those folders.
A new hobby
That thing that you always say you want to do but don’t have the time for? Do it. Whether it’s painting, learning an instrument, studying a new language, starting a blog, etc, you’ll never regret learning something. I love filling up my free time like this. It’s how I started getting into painting more and has because one of the ways that I destress.
Try out new hairstyles and looks
Okay. Is it just me or does anyone else ever want to try a new hairstyle but they don’t have the time? This also goes for makeup, putting outfits together, etc. Now’s your chance to try them. I’ve been testing with my hair all week because I’ve been getting so bored with the same style lately (hair post to come soon!).
Spend time with loved ones
If we can get anything out of everything thats going on, let it be this. Appreciating our loved ones and spending the extra time with them. Play games, watch movies, whatever you want to do. Spend time with the people you live with! We are being forced to slow down our busy lives and we should use the time to spend it with our families! Also, FaceTime the people you don’t live with. It’s a great way to keep up with your friends and check in on them. It’s so important!
Binge watch & don’t feel guilty
That Netflix show you’ve been wanting to watch? Binge it! Don’t feel guilty. I believe in staying productive but I know that can’t be 24/7. If it makes you happy, do it. If you choose one day this week to spend the whole day watching tv, who cares? And if you don’t know what to watch, here’s some recommendations-
– The Office (An all time favorite and perfect for forgetting all the serious stuff)
– The Originals (I love this series with all my heart)
– After (I’ve watched this movie three times)
What have you been doing to stay busy? I would love to know, so comment down below!
