I’m a firm believer in “less is more” so when it comes to beauty products, each of my routines remain as minimal as possible. I’ve been blessed with pretty low maintenance hair. I don’t put a lot in it, but this year, there were a few thing’s that I really wanted to try out. Other than those, I have a few holygrail products that I don’t mess with. So in today’s post, I wanted to share my must have hair care products. There are a few things that I’ve used forever and some new things that I’ve recently added.
Leave in conditioner
I’ve always used this. I just love the extra moisture that leave in conditioner gives. Also works great as a detangler for anyone that has super thick hair that is difficult to brush after the shower (me). Leave in conditioner also acts as a heat protectant which is a bonus. About a month ago, I bought some Ouai hair-care from Ulta. I’ve been wanting to try out the brand for some time now and I’m so happy I did! I’m obsessed with this leave in conditioner. It makes my hair soft and smooth and looks so shiny!
OUAI Air Dry Foam
This isn’t something I would normally think to get, but the description is what got me. It basically promises to give you your natural hair, but better. All through middle and high-school, I straightened my hair almost twice a day (kicking myself right now). It totally ruined the natural waves my hair has and now my hair (while still healthy) is half straight with a few waves throughout. I 80% of the time wear my hair natural now in order to try to get the waves back.
Satin scrunchies & pillowcase
I’ve been eyeing the SILK pillowcase and scrunchies for a while, but didn’t know if it was actually worth it. I ended up finding much cheaper ones at Ulta and decided to give it a try. It’s only been a few weeks but I feel like they actually work! The pillowcase is so soft on my hair and my hair seems to be less frizzy in the morning. The scrunchies are amazing too! They don’t leave that weird bend in your hair which is all I really wanted them for.
Wide-tooth comb
Never, I repeat *never* use a brush on your hair after you wash it. If you ever have, you can literally hear the sound of your hair breaking while brushing through it. You should always have a good wide-tooth comb that makes detangling easier and leaves your hair breakage free.
Invest in a hair brush
I’m super picky when it comes to hair brushes. I know it seems crazy to spend more on a hair brush, but I can definitely tell a difference in my hair since starting to use a higher end one. T3 has such amazing brushes (I swear by this brand!) and is super delicate on hair and leaves it smooth.
Invest in a hair dryer
Another investment that’s worth it in my opinion. For this, I swear by the Hot Tools One-Step Blowout. So much, that I wrote an entire post on it. Truly one of the best hair tools I have ever bought. It’s easy to learn how to use and makes you look like you just walked out of a salon. This is a must have for me because it’s so quick and easy and you don’t have to worry about styling it after.
What are some of your must have hair care products? Let me know! Hope you enjoyed this post!!
