I’m not going to lie, quarantine has gotten to me this past week. I’ve had zero motivation to do anything and have only worked on my blog maybe once or twice. However, I’ve been super strict on myself since the new year to make sure I stick to a certain posting schedule. I had absolutely nothing planned for todays post but still wanted to post something. I tried multiple times to write a post, but it just was not working out. So, I’m going to try to combat my writers block and lack of motivation by writing whatever comes to mind. I’ve done posts like these before, and I think they’re fun because they give me a chance to talk about things I wouldn’t normally talk about. It also is a reminder that it’s okay to not feel motivated 24/7. I known I’ll start feeling inspired again soon enough, but for now, enjoy these random thoughts of mine that would usually end up in my journal!
Here’s some random things-
I finished my thesis paper!
Forty-nine pages and ten thousand words later and I’m done! I’ve never felt so accomplished. I think working on my thesis the past week is part of the reason why I’ve been lacking motivation. I was working on my paper for seriously five hours a day. There was no way I wanted to write more afterwards. I still have a few more papers to write before I’m done with all my school work for the semester, but those all seem so easy now. Let’s hope senioritis doesn’t sink too much in before I finish them.
I think I want to start getting into graphic design
One thing I was really excited for when I started blogging almost two years ago, was the graphic design part. Then I started getting really into the other blogging stuff like SEO and Pinterest, and used all my time researching that. But I’ve been watching all of these graphic design videos on Instagram lately and I want to start getting into it. I see it more as being a hobby that I don’t rush to figure out so quickly. I’ve started watching beginner videos on Youtube on logo design and hand-lettering. So far, so good!
I’ve become a dog trainer
Haha, kidding. But isolation gives you a lot of time to try new things, and I’ve been seeing so many dogs on TikTok that can do the coolest tricks and wanted to teach my puppy some too! She already knows “sit”, “paw”, and “kiss”, but this week I taught her “spin” and “lie down”. She’s super smart and caught on really quickly, so I guess you can say it’s been a success. It will be even more of a success when she becomes TikTok famous! Kidding…but not really.
Speaking of TikTok…
Okay, TikTok is super addicting. I seriously had to set a time limit on it a few weeks ago because I was on the app for two hours at a time. Do you know how many TikTok videos you can watch in two hours? I love you TikTok, but my productivity does not. Has quarantine made anyone else become addicted to TikTok?
Those are all of my random thoughts! I hope you enjoyed this post!
