This months “Month in Review” is a bit later than it usually is, but I still wanted to make sure I got it up. First things first, how is it already May? It’s crazy how fast time is going even though most of us are sitting at home and most days can feel like they drag. But it’s officially May which is officially my graduation month. While my school is not having a ceremony, I’m still finishing up all my last minute work and getting ready to conclude the semester and my whole college career basically.
School
I started the application process for graduate school last week and it all finally became real that I wont be going back to real school next year, since I’ve decided to do an online program for my MBA. I will get more into that later this month because I plan on doing a separate graduation post. But If I did have to quickly sum up how I feel right now, I would say its bittersweet.
Blogging
The rest of April was the same as March in that I’ve been home, quarantined, like we all should be. In March, I really took the extra time to work on my blog and other goals I had. I knew I wanted to take advantage of being home everyday to the best of my ability and my blog showed for that because my views were the highest they have ever been. I worked at the same fast pace for most of April and then all of a sudden I felt like I had hit some sort of block. By the end of the month I had zero motivation to do anything blog related. I’m not mad about it because breaks are okay and I forbid to burn myself out doing something if I don’t want to do it.
I see so many people making it sound like if you aren’t spending every day of quarantine learning a new skill, working on a hobby, running 10 miles a day, etc, then you aren’t working at all. It’s honestly so annoying because no one is the same and everyone is handling all of this differently. While taking my short break from blogging I’ve done things that I wanted to do in that moment such as go on daily walks, binge watch The Vampire Diaries, and watch way too much TikTok. But thats okay! It’s okay to take breaks and not be productive every second of everyday.
May plans
As for my May plans, I will still be at home, quarantined. I am excited to get back into blogging since I feel refreshed and ready now. The weather is starting to get so much warmer where I live which is so nice. I’m grateful to have a backyard so I will be spending most days outside finishing up last minute school work and working on my blog. One thing I’ve really been enjoying has been waking up super early to go walking around my neighborhood. It’s so nice and quiet and there is no one out when I go. I love that this has become part of my daily routine.
Happy May and I hope everyone is staying safe and well!
