I’ve reorganized my room a good three times since quarantine has started. I started off by putting all of my Winter hats, scarves, and other things away. Then I started going through all my clothes for the Spring and Summer. It was super quick and I think its because I have my closet organization down to a T. So I wanted to do a post sharing all of my closet organization tips! Having an organized closet makes it easier to find things and makes your closet look aesthetically pleasing. Here’s all my tips!
Matching hangers
This is my number one closet organization tip. It’s a serious game changer and if you need to follow one of these tips, it’s this one. I’ve had matching hangers for so long and I could not imagine not having them. I use black velvet ones because they hold your clothes perfectly in place. I get them from multiple places like Target, Homegoods, Amazon, etc. since they all look the same. I love the ones with the twistable hooks because then I don’t have to worry about hanging something in the wrong direction. These are also great for those with limited space because they are so thin.
Baskets, baskets, baskets
I don’t like when my closet looks like too much clutter so baskets are a must. I love these white ones from The Container Store because they blend in really nicely with the rest of my closet. I put hats, scarves, etc in their own basket and put them on my top shelf.
Color code and categorize
Although my color palette is super neutral, I still make sure everything is color coded and categorized. This means that I’m putting all of my shirts in color order and then all of my sweaters after that in color order, I don’t mix the two. This makes it easier to find things and makes it look super neat.
Organize your jewelry
Whether it’s with a jewelry box or an aesthetically pleasing jewelry stand, it’s important to always organize your jewelry. I like to have both because I like the idea of a display, but also don’t want clutter. I have a stackers jewelry box from The Container Store and this jewelry stand from Urban Outfitters that I’m obsessed with.
Drawer dividers
These are the best things to ever be invented. You can also just get little bins and to separate as well. These have been the best when it comes to organizing my socks. I have regular socks on one side, no show socks on another, and my cozy fuzzy socks in the last section. It makes it so much easier than rummaging to try and find a specific type of sock.
I hope you found these tips helpful! What are some of your favorite closet organization tips?
I’ve yet to organize my closet this quarantine period but these are all very helpful tips! I need to get my hands on some baskets. Those would help SO much.
Baskets are my favorite because they make everything look nicer. I can’t stand things looking to cluttered or I feel like I can’t find anything!
