I think we can all agree when I say that 2020 has been a rollercoaster. I feel that this new year matters more than ever, because for some people, it’s a fresh of breath air. Obviously a new year, doesn’t mean all the problems go away. But, for a lot of people, myself included, it’s a reminder that time heals most things and that is something to look forward to.
(p.s. I’ve been doing these posts for two years now if you want to read them! 2019, 2020)
For the past two years, I’ve chosen a word that signifies what I want out of the new year. I’ve seen lot’s of people do this, and it’s become such a great way to put thing’s in perspective. It’s also a motivational boost when June comes, and you need a little reminder. For 2020, my word was “bloom”. For me, the word bloom meant becoming more of myself, and kind of just finding what it is that I love to do. There’s a poet/artist named Morgan Harper Nichols who inspired this, she is so brilliant, you need to check out her Instagram. Anyways, looking back, I feel really proud of myself and everything I’ve accomplished this year.
For starters, my blog stats are five times higher than last year. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, there wasn’t much to begin with, but a win is still a win and I’m really proud of this. I’ve already decided that I want to double my views next year so get ready! I think my tiny success came from me starting to find my voice on my blog. I went from writing the most random content, to writing more freely about the thing’s I was passionate about. I wrote more freely in the fact that I wasn’t strategically planning each post. If I got an idea, I would write it, post it, and that was it.
My word for this year is “focus”. I went back and forth with deciding what I really want to get out of this next year. In 2020, I was trying so many different things, that I often felt like I was losing perspective on what I wanted the most. So now that everything’s a bit more clear, and I feel like I’m slowly finding what I’m truly passionate about, I want to focus in on that. Give my all to the things that matter most.
Sticking to tradition, here’s some of my New Year’s goals, otherwise known as my “focus” for the year.
– Focus on my blog and bringing my vision of it to life.
– Focus on starting my career in the field of my dreams.
– Focus on speaking with love and positivity and spreading kindness whenever possible.
– Focus on my relationship with my family, friends, self, and God.
I hope the next year brings joy to everyone reading this. If we can take one good thing from 2020, it’s that gratitude is powerful and things will get better. Happy New Year!
Happy new year!
Happy New Year!!!
